A project of Salt Lake City, South Salt Lake, and UTA.

Sugar House Streetcar Greenway Rendering

"In the same way that the Riverwalk transformed downtown San Antonio, and the 16th Street Mall has revitalized downtown Denver, building on the assets of Sugar House and South Salt Lake will make this streetcar district one of the premier urban neighborhoods in the region."

SØREN SIMONSEN Salt Lake City Councilman

Rendering of the potential streetcar greenway and trail

Greenway and Trail     >

The desire for open space on both the north and south sides of the Sugar House Streetcar line was repeatedly expressed during the public meetings held thus.  Until now, improvements such as trails, landscaping, lighting, and site furniture have been referred to in general terms.  The next step in the design process is to define and cost, block-by-block, which improvements will be constructed within the streetcar corridor.
